Oh Sweet Joy - Bobbles!

One of my favorite design features to knit - Bobbles. A whole hat of bobbles?! Yippy skippy, Merry Christmas to me!!!
I adore knitting bobbles. Weird, huh? Most knitters I talk with wince at the thought of having to work those arduous little bumps. Kinda like nups (which I also fully enjoy making). I recently finished the Stonecrop sweater, which has tons of lovely bobbles interspersed amongst the rows of colorwork. Andrea Mowry's technique, knitting backwards rather than turning your work, was a blast to master. Ah yes, I do love my bobbles.
So when the ShannaJean Club's bonus hat pattern, "Bobble Palooza" was revealed, I could hardly wait to get knitting. The pattern actually has several options, depending how much bobble knitting one wants to undertake - a 'Lotsa Bobbles' version and a 'Fewer Bobbles' version. And several sizes, including a slouchy and a more fitted beany option. Too much fun! As designer Shannon describes it, "A party for your hands and head!"
Knit in worsted weight yarn, I finished the Lotsa Bobbles slouchy version, using my club exclusive colorway "Ms. ShannaJean If You're Crafty" in just 3 days. So of course, I immediately started another. Do you recognize the pink colored version that Shannon is wearing. Yup, that's Spattergroit. Woohoo!!!!! At last - the perfect project for that coveted colorway I've been yearning to play with. And more bobbles. Ahhhhhhhh, heaven!
