Bonnie Isle Hat – An Adventure in Fair Isle Knitting
Sunday November 6, 1-3:30pm PST (Via ZOOM)
Michele Lee Bernstein / PDX Knitterati
Master the stranded colorwork technique and learn to knit the official pattern of Shetland Wool Week 2022 – an event held annually in Scotland’s Shetland Islands, celebrating its native wool and associated crafts. Each year, the festival’s chosen patron creates a special hat design; in 2022, that honor was awarded to Shetland native Linda Shearer. Her beautiful ‘Bonnie Isle Hat’ uses five colors of Shetland sourced wool, combined to great effect in this lovely Fair Isle pattern. The perfect project for those new to stranded color knitting and experienced color aficionados alike! Join Michele as she guides you through the skills needed for making your very own Bonnie Isle Hat.
