Darning and Beyond! Mending Your Knits
Sunday October 1, 1-3pm
Taught by Elise Webb
An In-Person Class
Does your favorite hand-knit scarf have pesky moth holes? Is your big toe peeking through the end of your sock? Do the cuffs of your store-bought sweater need some love? Or do you just want the confidence to take apart and re-knit your cherished hand-knit pieces? Join Elise for a truly enlightening 2 hours. Together, we’ll look at how to “read” your knitting to choose the right fix. Anything from a classic darn to invisible re-knitting!
Supplies you'll need.
- Any and all garments that are in need of mending. We might not finish them all, but we’ll talk about how best to tackle each item.
- Yarn or thread to mend with. This should never be thicker than the yarns of the garment.
- Darning needles.
- At least two double pointed needles (of a size that makes sense with your thread/knitted item).
- Stitch markers.
A swatch for practicing while in class will be provided.
This is an in-person class, held at For Yarns Sake. $45, plus supplies
