And the colorful adventure continues! So much fun was had exploring the rainbow last year that ShannaJean decided to do it again in 2023. But the theme for this year's exploration is 'lean into ease.'
One featured color a month, working our way through the rainbow by showcasing a lovely tonal one month, and a fun bespeckled version of that solid the next. For 2023, dyed on Knitted Wit's popular DK yarn, and giving you three different options for making - a featured 1-skein pattern, or either a knitted or crocheted blanket that will incorporate all twelve of the explored rainbow colors explored over the year.
Each ShannaJean Club 2023 Explore the Rainbow kit includes 1 skein of Knitted Wit DK (100% USA sourced SW Merino, 280 yards / 115 grams), and a link (on the inside of the ball band) to a webpage with the following pattern options:
- a pdf of the featured one-skein pattern for that month
- instructions for an easy-peasy knitted blanket with a bit of texture (finished size 60" x 60")
- instructions for a snappy granny striped crochet blanket (finished size 60" x 60")
- links and download codes for either Ravelry or Payhip
The first colorway in our 2023 Explore the Rainbow is a bright and happy pinkish red. Or is it reddish pink? Whichever descriptor you use, Liberally Bleeding Heart is a wonderful color, lining up pretty perfectly with the Pantone color of the year. Viva Magenta! The featured pattern for January is Shannon's Take a Break Socks, which are fun and fast and snuggly as all get-out. Take a hint from your project this month, and take a break to knit and snuggle up after the hustle-bustle of the holiday season.
