Learn three fun techniques in this quick to knit cowl! You'll make elongated stitches and gather them up into floral motifs, learn the quilted lattice slip stitch stitch (single and/or contrasting color), and learn to add beads with a Bead Aid tool or crochet hook.
Prerequisite Skills. knit/purl; cast on/bind off
Homework. With main color (MC), cast on 120 (132, 192) stitches for 22 (24, 35)" cowl. Place marker to mark beginning of round, join to work in the round. Knit one round, purl one round. Join contrast color (CC) and knit 1 round, purl 1 round. See you in class!
Supplies you’ll need. Fingering-weight yarn, 2 skeins in contrasting colors. US 4/3.5mm 16 or 20” (24” for larger cowl) circular needle. You'll want a smooth join between cable and needle, so your yarn overs don't get stuck at the join. Stitch marker to note beginning of round. Crochet hook US 13/14 (0.90 mm) for placing beads and/or a Bead Aid tool (I’ll show you how to use both), 400 size 6/0 beads (or 600 for the longer cowl).
$40, plus supplies. Fee includes pattern.
Once registered, you’ll receive an email with a class handout, pattern and Zoom information.
