Peekaboo Cowl: Brioche + Assigned Pooling
Sunday January 26th, 2-4pm
Michele Lee Bernstein (PDXKnitterati)
Brioche knitting and assigned pooling are two wildly popular and fun techniques that can work beautifully together for a dazzling effect. The Peekaboo motif featured in Michele’s latest pattern is reversible, but looks different on each side. In this 2-hour class, you’ll learn how to knit the motif, created with Brioche 4-stitch increases and decreases, as well as syncopated brioche. We’ll also sample other assigned pooling stitches with brioche.
Prerequisite skills. Know how to knit 2 color brioche rib in the round or flat. This is not a beginning brioche class.
Supplies you’ll need. Two skeins fingering weight yarn, one of which is dyed for assigned pooling. 16-inch US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle, stitch markers, a locking stitch marker or J-shaped cable hook for making Brioche 4-stitch decreases.
Prior to class homework. Provided in class handout.
