Inspired by the breathtaking scenery of Ireland's Northern Headlands, The Fibre Co.'s newest yarn, Arranmore (Gaelic name: Árainn Mhór) is spun in a historic UK mill who's roots trace back to the homespun tweed industry of 19th century County Donegal. What makes Arranmore stand out? Its use of luxurious fibers, including fine merino wool blended with cashmere and silk, creating an authentic tweed yarn of unparalleled quality. And with a one-of-a-kind Donegal inspired color palette reminiscent of the wild Irish Coast, this aran weight yarn was designed for crocheters and knitters who appreciate the best of luxury and tradition.

What's a new yarn without a fabulous design collection?

The new Arranmore Collection of six sweaters and three accessories gathers inspiration from traditional Irish knitwear. Kelbourne Woolens owners Kate and Courtney traveled to Donegal in December of 2015, visiting the studios and homes of numerous Irish weavers and knitters, gathering endless inspiration with each new moment. The Aran weight gauge and texture of Arranmore creates a rich visual landscape that allows simple shapes and stitch patterns to really shine. This collection is the culmination of their trip, and we're so happy to share it with you all.

The Arranmore Collection patterns are available as individual pdf downloads on Ravelry, as well as through the Kelbourne Woolens website.
