Legacy Worsted is 100% Shaniko Wool - a completely traceable American branded wool. Located in Wasco County, Oregon near the town of Shaniko, the Shaniko Wool Company is a branded and certified program of American Merino Wool. The untreated fiber is grown, sheared, scoured, and combed in the U.S. Each of the nine ranches sourcing the Shaniko Wool Company are certified under the RWS (Responsible Wool Standard), and are located in California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada. The Shaniko Wool used in our Legacy Worsted is a blend of Merino and Rambouillet, and is Columbia Responsible Wool Standard Compliant.

This Non-Superwash base is bouncy, with the right amount of "tooth", while still being delightfully next-to-skin soft! A great choice for colorwork, texture, or simple stockinette. You can even steek it!
