The Cloud Drift Rhinebeck Cowl: A Simply Shetland x Madelinetosh Collaboration

Announcing an exciting Simply Shetland and Madelinetosh collaboration for Rhinebeck! Featuring Gudrun Johnston’s stunning new cowl pattern, Cloud Drift, and Madelinetosh Tosh Silk Cloud in Plivver: a limited-editing color dyed just for Simply Shetland to perfectly match our main color shade of Spindrift in Old Gold.

Construction. Inspired by Shetland hap shawls, the cowl is worked flat with yarn overs at the edges and then seamed to form the cowl. It features mosaic knitting, a fun colorwork technique without stranding, all on a garter stitch background.

Design Inspiration. The simple mosaic design creates a gradient effect reminiscent of Sashiko patterns, highlighting the beauty of Shetland yarn held with a Japanese milled yarn.

Each kit includes:

• 5 balls of Spindrift: 2 balls of the main color and 1 ball each of the three contrasting colors.
• 1 skein of Tosh Silk Cloud in Plivver: An exclusive color developed by Madelinetosh. Plivver is the Shetland term for the Golden Plover, a bird known for its earthy golden feathers.
• A golden Boxie bag from sister company, della Q.
