The Year of DK Hats

What’s better than a free hat pattern? 12 free hat patterns! Kelbourne Woolens' popular Year of Hats is back, this time featuring DK weight yarn. Each month, enjoy making a lovely new design in a different color.

Each Year of DK Hats kit includes:

• 1 skeins of Germantown DK (available in the original design color, or 1-2 alternate colors)

January - Callisto Hat. The first design is the lovely Callisto Hat by Tommy Knits. Designed in the shade Jade, this hat features a tubular cast on, beautiful XO cables, and intricate crown decreases. A pom pom tops it all off and a custom KW tag completes the look. Also available in Tan and Baby Pink.

February - Umbriel. Designed by Kelbourne's very own Courtney Kelley, Umbriel is worked from the bottom up and features a mesmerizing spiral slip-stitch pattern your customers will love. Originally designed in Highlighter Yellow, February's hat kit is also available in Wild Rose and Persian Red.

March - Juliet Beret. March's design is Juliet by Chinua “Chin” Matthews. This lovely beret is worked from the top down in an intricate cable and lace pattern. Integrated increases form the shape, and a slipped stitch folded ribbing provides structure at the brim. Fully charted, the cables and lace are not too difficult and keep the project engaging! Originally designed in Natural, March's hat kit is also available in Rhododendrum.

April - Oberon Hat.  This lovely cabled hat begins with a tubular cast on followed by deep 1 x 1 ribbing. The body is worked in a classic 4 stitch cable and garter pattern, and integrated decreases shape the crown. Fully charted, Oberon's stitch pattern is easy to memorize and makes for a great project to practice cabling without a cable needle! Originally designed in Hot Pink, April's kit is also available in Steel.
