Shannon Squire
Add yet another artistic forte to your maker's basket of skills. The art of decorating fabric or other materials using a needle to stitch thread or yarn, embroidery is one of the oldest forms of textile art, with origins dating back thousands of years across many cultures. This 2-hour class provides an overview of embroidery, focusing on tips and tricks and foundational stitches. Folks will get a printed sampler that features the following basic stitches: running stitch, backstitch, chain stitch, french knots, and satin stitch. No embroidery knowledge is necessary, and best practices/tips and tricks will be shared as well.
Prerequisite skills. None! Just a desire to learn new ways to play with pretty string.
Supplies you'll need. None! Shannon will provide everything you'll need - needles, thread, a hoop, sampler, and booklet.
This is an in-person class held at For Yarn's Sake. $75, which includes all supplies.
