The HerStory Club was born out of a desire to learn more about women who have made a difference, the unsung heroines.  For 2022, Knitted Wit's HerStory Club turns its focus to female authors.  After the past two years, a no brainer, given one of our favorite things to do besides making - reading.  Join us each month as we celebrate a wonderful female author, and introduce you to a good book or two.  We're quite excited about the list of fabulous Hers being highlighted this year, and can’t wait to tell their story in color!

January's recipient is the talented, hilarious Phoebe Robinson.  Read about her and her literary contributions HERE. 

For February, we're spending time getting to know Ijeoma Oluo - writer, speaker, and self-proclaimed internet yeller.  Learn about this amazing woman HERE.

June honors renound author and self-proclaimed 'Bad Feminist' (the title of her most well-known work) Roxane Gay.  Read about her contributions HERE.

September honors Sandra Cisneros - the perfect female author to feature as kids head back to school.  Her Award winning coming-of-age book, The House of Mango Street is a staple in many schools across America.  Read all about Sandra and her literary contributions HERE.

For October, we're staying in back to school mode, learning about author Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz and her commitment to Indigenous rights and history.  The colorway in her honor is inspired by her book of the same name.  Learn more HERE.

December's HerStory closes out the year with some good old-fashioned introspection from twin-sister authors Emily & Amelia Nagoski, and their how-to-move-forward-in-a-difficult-world-with-all-of-the-expectations-of-being-a-person-in-the-world manual, "Burnout." Learn more HERE.

Each month's HerStory release is available in either Knitted Wit Sock (80% SW Merino, 20% Nylon, 420 yards / 113 grams), or Knitted Wit DK (100% SW Merino, 280 yards / 115 grams).  Both are 100% USA sourced sheep to skein.
