Helix Knitting
Saturday June 20
11:30am to 1:30pm
Michele Lee Bernstein (PDXKnitterati)
Helix knitting is a method of knitting jogless stripes in the round. There is no carrying the yarn up to the next stripe on the back. Helix knitting works well for single row stripes in 2 or more colors, seamless garter stitch, and blending skeins of yarn. Play with color and texture! We'll cast on and work helical garter stitch, and then move on to stripes.
Supplies you'll need. 50g/150 yards worsted weight yarn in each of 3 colors (light, medium, dark). 16" circular needles in US6 and US 8. One stitch marker to note beginning of round.
Homework. See handout for cast on information.
This is an in-person class held at For Yarn's Sake
$55, plus supplies.
