Next Steps Embroidery

Sunday April 19th, 2-4pm

Shannon Squire

The art of decorating fabric or other materials using a needle to stitch thread or yarn, embroidery is one of the oldest forms of textile art, with origins dating back thousands of years across many cultures. This is a next-steps embroidery workshop, building on the basics covered in Shannon’s Intro to Embroidery Class with some next-level stitches. The pre-printed sampler provided includes the following stitches: stem stitch, bullion knots, blanket stitch, couching, and woven circles/spiderwebs (we'll go over 2 different ways to make these, each with very different aesthetics).

Prerequisite skills. You don't absolutely have to have taken Shannon’s Intro to Embroidery class to take this one, but should be comfortable with the basics of embroidery.

Supplies you’ll need. None! Shannon will provide everything you'll need – needles, thread, hoop, sampler, and booklet.

This is an in-person class held at For Yarn's Sake. $75, which includes all supplies.
